As you may know, OU is currently involved in a pilot to decide whether to keep OU Desire2Learn (learn.ou.edu) or replace it with Instructure’s Canvas.  The most important part of this pilot is gathering feedback from students and instructors so we can ensure that we select the system that best fits the needs of our campus.

Currently, students, faculty and staff have the ability to visit several physical locations to test out the systems and provide feedback. We have also been reaching out to colleges and instructors to set up time to meet with faculty groups to discuss the pilot, perform demonstrations, and provide access to the demo sites so instructors can take a test drive on their own time. We are calling this our LMS Pilot Roadshow!

Tomorrow April 15th, we kick off our Roadshow at the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education in Collings Hall from 1pm-4pm in the main lobby. We will have demo stations set up for instructors and students to take a look at the two systems.  This will also provide an opportunity for people to ask questions about the pilot, systems involved, and decision making process. If you are on the north side of campus, we will be taking the LMS Pilot Roadshow to Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy, on the second floor lobby of the Sarkeys Energy Center  from 9am-12pm on Wednesday, April 16th.

Update:   We will be in Devon Energy Hall from 2pm-4pm on Tuesday, April 22nd and Price College of Business (outside the undergrad office) from 9am-12pm on Wednesday, April 23rd.

We are working to add more dates and locations to the LMS Pilot Roadshow! If your college/department is interested in hosting our roadshow in your building or would like us to speak at a faculty meeting, please email us at  academictech [@] ou.edu and let us know some dates and times.

Can’t make it to a physical location? Ready to login and check them out now?

We are excited to hear your feedback! A decision will be made about the future of the LMS product on the OU campus sometime this summer.
